DIY Brush Cleanser

How often do you clean your brushes?

I have asked family and friends this question and to my surprise most of them answered that they have never done it! The ideal answered would have been … once a week.  I know we are always moving and think we don’t have time to be cleaning our brushes, but it is so important for so many reasons! Most of all is the bad bacteria building in the brushes – yuk, the performance of them, and the bonus that taking care of things will always make them last longer – so you don’t need to be buying more, think of the environment and your wallet.

Here is an easy recipe of things you probably already have at home. It takes just 5 min or even less.

  • Mix a tablespoon of natural shampoo or dishwashing liquid & one tablespoon of vinegar in a cup of warm water.
  • Dip in, swirl it around and massage the mixture into the brush.
  • Rinse in clean water, squeeze excess water out, and place flat on a towel to dry.
